Colour Blocking

Colour blocking is one of the biggest trends this summer. With shops full of lego like dresses and bright tees it can be difficult to see just how much potential this look has. Enter Richard Nicoll, who  is without a doubt the master of this trend and whos S/S 09 collection started the fire in the first place. His collection used the most delicious colour combinations of the Spring Summer catwalks; strong shades of aqua nestled under sheer sea foam chiffon and nude pinky greys were cinched in with zesty orange leather belts. Nicoll showed us how to colour block using variations of fabrics and textures as well as colours. So this summer, instead of reaching for your flag like dress try layering a nude shirt with a heavy mint  skirt and finishing with a bright pair of juicy shoes.
