Talk Time

There’s two tantalizingly good talks coming up in the next two days – they’re both at Trinity College but they’re open for anyone to go along to, so long as you reserve a ticket in advance. First up is one of the best-known names in literary criticism, Terry Eagleton. If you like books, philosophy or Marxism (or indeed, all three), then it could be Christmas come-early for you this Friday (16 April). It’s on from 12-2pm in the Arts Block – I’m looking forward to it even more than the Trinity Ball, embarrassing though that is to admit. The following day, it gets EVEN BETTER, as Philip Pullman, author of the Dark Materials trilogy is going to be talking about his controversial new book, The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ, which will be on in the Ed Burke theatre from 3-4.30pm, Saturday, 17 April. You can find information about both events here.
