Communion is the latest UK night to establish itself in Dublin. Starting up in 2006 in the Notting Hill Arts Club, it’s helped launch the careers of a pretty impressive array of bands, such as Noah and the Whale and Mumford and Sons. Now, it’s spread across the Irish Sea and set up camp in Whelans – the line-up for the May event includes the likes of The Last Tycoons, Anthony Furey and the Young Folk, Justin Grounds, Rachel Sermanni and Harrison Cargill.
It’s on May 16th, and doors open at 6.30pm. Here’s a link to their MySpace page if you want some more info. Coincidentally, it’s the night after my last exam, so you’ll probably see us there, paralytically drunk, ranting at Pat the Bouncer, our favourite bouncer in the whole of Dublin. Pat, if you’re reading this, we genuinely love you, even if we haven’t been frequenting Whelans as much as we used to.
