Dalkey Book Festival

It’s all getting very literary here at Inky Wrists at the moment. We’ve just heard of yet another upcoming bookish event that’s on soon – the first Dalkey Book Festival, which will be running the weekend of the 18th-20th June. There’s a huge and very varied line-up, but highlights include: readings by Maeve Binchy and Joseph O’Connor, having a dance in club where Ross O’Carroll Kelly is djing (we’re slightly apprehensive about this part), and watching a graveyard performance of Edgar Allen Poe’s tales.

There’s also some pretty deadly events for children, or those who enjoy childish things (ie: us), with a performance of Oscar Wilde’s The Happy Prince, readings by Marita Conlon McKenna and Gordon Snell, and puppet shows!

Here’s a link to their website – unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be working at the moment, but hopefully it’ll be up and running soon!
