Taste of Dublin

We were delighted to head down to the first day of this year’s Taste of Dublin festival in the Iveagh Gardens. We were treated to a delicious selection of chocolate at the Green & Black VIP bar (we’d never tasted ginger chocolate before… it was pretty delectable) and Veuve Clicquot champagne. After the festival officially opened, we went on an adventure around the amazing variety of stands that were dotted around the Iveagh Gardens. It was a surprisingly sunny evening, given how overcast it had been earlier that day, and there was an abundance of foodie delights everywhere. Many of Dublin’s top restaurants were selling sample dishes of their finest fare – we went on a bit of an eating spree once we discovered how nice the food was. Top of our list was definitely The Saddle Room’s miniature portions of steak and chips smothered in bearnaise sauce… closely followed by Salon des Saveurs’s roasted scallops.

A very special mention also has to go to the lovely people selling strawberries on the Superquinn stand – they’re in the above photograph – and who completely won us over with their beautiful produce. It’s certainly worth checking out their stand if you head down to the festival, it’s brilliant!
