Stinging Fly Book Launch

Tonight (that’s Wednesday, October 13th, if you’re wondering) sees the launch of Sharp Sticks, Driven Nails, a new anthology of short stories edited by Philip O Ceallaigh. Get down to the Workman’s Club (it’s next to the Clarence Hotel) from 7pm, as there’ll be the chance of a glass of wine and readings by Madeline D’Arcy, David Mohan and Kevin Barry. Copies of the anthology will be on sale on the night for the much-discounted price of €12. If you can’t make it down to the launch but are intrigued, nevertheless, by the best of new (mostly) Irish fiction, Sharp Sticks, Driven Nails will be on sale in bookshops from this week onwards. We still recommend the launch this evening though, it looks brilliant!

PS – If you’re confused about the above picture, we did try to get the image of the bookcover but couldn’t find one (damn you, Google!), so instead, we thought a nice photo of some nails would have to do instead, as a subtle nod to the book’s title…
