The Age of AdzPosted: 18.10.2010
Who doesn’t love Sufjan Stevens? Soft honeyed songs and a fistful of hugely successful albums, Stevens has little to prove with his newest release. The Age of Adz is a surprising shift away from some of his more soothing instrumental work (think Greetings from Michigan and more recently his EP, All Delighted People). There is an electronic twinge to all eleven tracks. “Futile Devices” and “Vesuvius” are more what you expect from Stevens, but songs like “Too Much” and “I Want To Be Well” scramble an almost Gameboy undertone with Sufjan Steven’s always perfect voice. Winter’s soundtrack.
